Best Public Speaking Topics for More Impact, Influence & Income

From the #1 Bestselling Author of "Speaking Game..."

Public Speaking Topics

What you talk about when you speak in public is so important, and yet it's not the most important thing.

The “Content” of what you say is only about 7% of the communication. So much of the communication that happens when you experience a public speaker is the unspoken content: body language, tone of voice, the environment, what you see them doing, how they’re moving their body, and how they're using their facial expressions — that’s so much
of it…

But if you want to get public speaking topics that help you to connect with your audience, I say there's no better topics to talk about then what people are really interested in.

What does that mean? Well, what are people really fascinated by today?

Celebrities.

Celebrities are the most appealing topic of all, because everybody knows celebrities.

When I say Kim Kardashian, for example, you know exactly what she looks like, and you start visualizing Kim Kardashian while I'm discussing how she's become so powerful that she can get people out of prison, or how she’s helped her husband Kanye go from being $56,000,000 in debt to being a billion dollar brand.

You’re visualizing Kim Kardashian, and the fact that you can picture her in your mind makes her a powerful public speaking topic because it activates multiple senses in the heart and mind and spirit and soul of the audience.

Let's talk about another example of a celebrity: Suzanne Somers.

Suzanne Somers is one of my favorite celebrity experts. She started out as a television sitcom star on Three's Company, and after she got fired off that show (because she wanted to get paid equal money as men,) she had her own show in Las Vegas — she became female Entertainer of the Year alongside Frank Sinatra — then she did the ThighMaster infomercials and made a ton of money, and now she's a New York Times bestselling author of many many many books.

She has huge amounts of impact and influence — and you're probably looking in your mind's eye and seeing her.

Let’s talk about another one: Martha Stewart.

What a super professional lady! Martha spoke at my recent conference at Carnegie Hall, and I asked her “Martha what's the most important thing you ever learned?”

She said “When I was a little girl, my daddy told me that I could do anything, and I believed him.”

Now you're probably thinking about her on TV, maybe you're a fan of her show with Snoop Dogg, or maybe you were a fan of her DIY programs, the Martha Stewart shows on HGTV or Food Network — or maybe you just think about how she got in trouble with the law, how she had to go to “Yale” (that’s how she referred to it at Carnegie Hall; she didn't talk about going to jail, she called it “Yale!”)

When you talk about celebrities, the audience can visualize and have experiences with them beyond just what you are talking about, based on their knowledge of the celebrity, and it makes the topic three-dimensional.

If I'm just talking about a coffee cup, it is just a one-dimensional object in your mind's eye. But when I talk about the cast of Friends, like Joey, or Jennifer Aniston, now you think about them going to Central Perk to get their cup of coffee — it changes the whole experience for you.

So if you really want the best public speaking topics you should really be talking about major celebrities, and if you want to learn how to talk about celebrities and to use celebrity storytelling, I teach this in depth in my live events, and you should get into one of my
public speaking classes by clicking one of the links on this page, or you should get my book “Speaking Game” where I go into this also, or you may want to come to my live events where I train people on using celebrity storytelling as a way to have the best public speaking topics.

I look forward to helping you to take your speaking career to the level that you’ve always dreamed of, with the best public speaking topic!

Sincerely,

Clint Arthur
